Snow Arrives in Over-the-Rhine in June
Cincinnati eCommerce firm makes new home on streetcar line; welcomes U.S. and global partners and clients
CINCINNATI, Ohio – Local eCommerce startup, Snow Commerce, welcomes local, national, and global partners and clients to its new headquarters on Main Street in Over-the-Rhine on Thursday, June 30 for the first annual “Snow Summit”, an eCommerce mini-conference.
The “Snow Summit”, covering the latest in cybersecurity, eCommerce and print on demand, will include Snow’s staff, partners and clients from Cincinnati, Louisville, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Berlin.
CEO Rick Simpson was attracted to the “vibrant and supportive community in Over-the-Rhine and its entrepreneurial spirit” when looking for a new home for his growing eCommerce firm, which currently has 20 employees and is poised for growth. “Cincinnati is fertile ground for the kind of talent we are looking for,” Simpson said. The firm has hired several recent graduates of Northern Kentucky University to fill its growing staff needs. Snow also recently expanded to Russia, acquiring a team of seven developers in an office in Taganrog, near the Ukraine border.
The new office’s location, just off the soon-to-open streetcar line, positions employees and clients in the centre of Cincinnati’s growth and vibrancy.
“Snow Commerce is exactly the kind of office tenant Urban Sites loves. Their team has the raw enthusiasm and talent that will be critical to re-inventing the entrepreneurial spirit of East of Vine. We are happy to welcome Snow Commerce as our first office tenant in the 1200 block of Main Street and are glad that companies like this are helping pave the way to create a dynamic, diverse and creative Main Street Business District,” said Michael Chewning, Executive Vice President of Urban Sites, which owns and developed the building.
Snow Commerce, founded in 2010 in Rick Simpson’s home and most recently located in Hyde Park, is the latest successful venture for the Toronto native.
Snow Commerce works to build personal, safe and easy shopping experiences using multiple eCommerce platforms and custom applications. Partners and clients include such well-known eCommerce giants as CafePress and 1800Flowers.com, as well as local firms.
